AM International GmbH introduced the De’Longhi and Kenwood appliance brands into travel retail at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last month.
De’Longhi is a family-owned Italian company which acquired Kenwood in 2001 and the Braun household business in 2012. Initially selling air conditioning devices, De’Longhi expanded its portfolio to coffee makers, kitchen appliances and homecare products from entry-level to high-end prices.
The company attributed its successful entry into the mature market of fully automatic coffee makers to its “innovative products with a competitive edge and a distinctive combination of performance and design”. Not only did De’Longhi grow the market, it became a global market leader within only a few years, the company claimed.

Klaus Mellin, the co-founder and Managing Director of AM International GmbH and duty free agent for Braun, commented: “We look forward to bringing De’Longhi and Kenwood to downtown shopping malls, diplomat shops, border stores and many others.
“Also, we are glad to be able to offer our customers an efficient single-source supply for De’Longhi, Kenwood and Braun household products since they all will be shipped from the same warehouse.”
The two brands would be added to Mellin’s long-established Braun portfolio and handled by AM International GmbH, founded in late 2010.
