“An important evolution” – OneWorld Duty Free completes phased opening in Colombo

SRI LANKA. In a landmark day for the company, OneWorld Duty Free (ODF) has officially opened its flagship store at Port City Duty-Free Mall in Colombo.

Spanning 12,800sq ft, the store is now operating at full capacity after a phased opening.

Initial operations launched last year with selected categories, followed by the introduction of a dedicated luxury watch portfolio in October 2025.

A company statement said, “The latest revamp completes the vision for the store, delivering a refined, immersive shopping destination designed to meet the evolving expectations of today’s travellers and local shoppers.”

It added, “Designed as a modern downtown duty-free destination, the Port City flagship store places strong emphasis on customer experience, seamless navigation and curated brand discovery.

“Interactive elements, thoughtfully zoned categories, and an expansive product mix come together to create an engaging retail journey, reinforcing ODF’s ambition to redefine duty-free shopping beyond the airport environment.”

The store now features a comprehensive portfolio of premium international brands across key travel retail categories, including fragrances, wines & spirits, tobacco, sunglasses, luxury & fashion timepieces, confectionery and toys. The wines & spirits selection showcases whiskies, Cognacs, white spirits and wines for connoisseurs and casual shoppers.

ODF’s luxury watch offering highlights Swiss and international brands such as Tissot, Rado, Mido, and Hamilton, complemented by a strong fashion watch lineup including Casio, Seiko, Roamer of Switzerland, Police, Welder, US Polo Assn., Fossil, Citizen, Timberland, Swiss Military and Emporio Armani.

The fragrance portfolio features leading names including Calvin Klein, Burberry, Chloé, Davidoff, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera and Jean Paul Gaultier, while the sunglasses category presents luxury eyewear from brands such as Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Montblanc, Ray-Ban and Saint Laurent.

The confectionery assortment offers a selection of popular brands across gifting and self-indulgent options.

Sri Lankan passport holders, including dual citizens and foreign residents with valid visas, are eligible for an annual duty-free allowance of US$2,000, valid for four days from the date of arrival. Tourists holding foreign passports are not subject to this limit and may shop freely upon arrival. Purchases can be conveniently collected at the airport pickup counter at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.
