GERMANY/INTERNATIONAL. Digital and ecommerce developer AOE has appointed Michael Raasch as Head of Airline Solutions, with effect from 1 October.
Raasch joins the German company from LSG Group, where he has served as Head of Consulting. He will be tasked with further establishing the OM³ digital marketplace in the airline and aviation industry, with a special focus on the development and market positioning of the airline-specific version of the OM³ solution, Airline Edition.
“I have been following the development of the OM³ platform for several years,” said Raasch, who has more than 20 years of experience in the airline and aviation industry. “Compared to other approaches, OM³ is, in my opinion, the most innovative solution and far ahead of its time and interesting for airports and airlines alike.
“I am looking forward to working actively on the further development of the platform and to further positioning the OM³ Airline Edition in the market.”
The OM³ Airline Edition was recently launched with Singapore Airlines. “If you look at the current developments in the market towards de-bundling services and expanding ecommerce platforms, it’s obvious that all airlines are currently reorienting their business models for travel retail,” said Raasch. “This is why there is so much interest in our solutions and we currently have a number of airports and airlines that are in discussions or planning with us.”
Raasch spent four years developing inflight concepts for Lufthansa Group before joining the LSG Group in 2006 as Project Manager for the Airbus A380 aircraft. He has worked in several business development leadership positions on innovative concepts that aim to optimise the airline customer experience.
As Vice President Global Customer Concepts and Innovation, Raasch was responsible for the conceptualisation and development of LSG Group’s global ecommerce platform strategy.
