ASIA PACIFIC. The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) has postponed what was planned to be its first Northeast Asia Forum, to be held in Hong Kong on 3-5 December.
Confirming the news, APTRA Executive Director Anne Kavanagh told The Moodie Davitt Report: “We decided to reschedule it in 2026 in response to requests from the industry – a combination of year-end pressures, holiday and travel budget restrictions.
“We’re currently assessing when is the best time given how busy the industry calendar is.”
Or perhaps, whether the industry needs such an event. The postponement (and, one might surmise, possible cancellation down the line) seems logical given the troubled or at least soft state of key North and East Asian travel retail markets, notably South Korea, Macau, Hong Kong and Hainan.
Meanwhile, APTRA is set to launch registration for the third edition of its highly successful APTRA India conference, to be hosted by Bangalore International Airport Limited, operator of the acclaimed Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, on 25-27 March 2026. ✈
