Áreas adds five retail outlets at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta

USA. Ãreas has opened five new shops at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport – the world’s busiest hub for overall passenger numbers – bringing its presence there to 25 locations.

Ãreas has invested US$2.4 million in the new locations, which cover over 4,000sq m in the domestic terminal and will be operated initially until 2018. Revenues are projected to reach approximately US$4.2 million in the first year.

Among the new outlets is a 635sq m Swarovski boutique, its third at the airport. Orange Optix is Ãreas’ exclusive franchise in Atlanta and stems from a partnership between Areas and Desert Sunglass of Scottsdale.

Diverse is described as a “modern convenience store with an international flair”, while ALL ATL and ATL Market offer travellers a wide selection of practical travel products, snacks, books and gifts.

The new openings boost Ãreas’ strong presence in the USA, which now extends to 157 outlets in 10 airports and two major highways. The company’s US business account for approximately 20% of the its global turnover.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport handled over 94 million passengers last year, of which approximately 84 million were domestic travellers.
