UK. Heathrow Airport has partnered with the British Fashion Council (BFC) to launch an exclusive tote bag range ahead of London Fashion Week (16-20 February).
The limited-edition collection was launched in celebration of the BFC Newgen Initiative’s 30th anniversary and features designs by some of BFC Newgen’s most famous alumni.
These include Ahluwalia, Giles Deacon, Roksanda, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou and Halpern. The bags are available at Heathrow throughout 2024.

Each of the designers has created a special print for the range of bags. The exclusive collection is available in experiential pop-ups and retail shops throughout Heathrow including Harrods, Case, WHSmith and World Duty Free, while stocks last.
The BFC Newgen 30 collection is priced from £9.99 to £70, with a percentage of sales donated to the BFC Foundation, which plays a key role in supporting the next generation of designers in the UK’s fashion industry.
Every bag in the range is made with sustainable cotton and produced by Bag of Ethics through an ethical supply chain.
To promote the line, Heathrow has launched a competition giving travellers the chance to win behind-the-scenes access to a London Fashion Week show in September and an overnight stay at the Treehouse London Hotel.

Heathrow Retail Director Fraser Brown commented: “Heathrow is proud to have collaborated with the British Fashion Council on this project, and to be using our platform to showcase the work of emerging fashion designers to travellers from all over the world.
“Passengers visiting Heathrow this year will be able to take part in celebrating London Fashion Week, with access to exclusive new products from creatives at the forefront of design, as well as those working to make the fashion industry more sustainable.”
For 30 years, BFC Newgen has supported more than 300 British creatives, propelling designers such as Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane to the global stage. BFC Newgen gives young designers the chance to showcase their collections at London Fashion Week and also offers mentorship and financial support to new businesses.
In addition to its partnership with Heathrow, the BFC is celebrating 30 years of BFC Newgen with an exhibition at the London Design Museum called REBEL: 30 Years of London Fashion sponsored by Alexander McQueen. It is running until 11 February 2024. ✈
