Asia Pacific and Middle East traffic demand remains robust in November

ASIA PACIFIC. Passenger traffic climbed by +7% year-on-year in Asia Pacific and by +10.4% in the Middle East in November.

Traffic growth in Asia Pacific was boosted by India’s domestic market amid healthy economic growth. Most of the country’s key airports reported double-digit growth led by Delhi (+21.9%), Mumbai (+18.3%) and Bangalore (+24.3%).

The regional performance was partially offset by the slowdown in the Chinese economy with leading airports such as Beijing (-1.6%) and Guangzhou (-1.8%) reporting slight decreases compared to last year. Shanghai Pudong continued to lead passenger traffic growth among major Chinese airports, generating a healthy growth of +9%.

Growth in the Middle East was sustained by Dubai (+8.1%) and Abu Dhabi (+15.8%) as both airports continue to expand.
