MEXICO. Mexican airport concessionaire Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) has announced a US$5 million investment programme for fast-growing Huatulco airport on southern Mexico’s Pacific coast . Since 1995 Asur has invested US$7mn in modernizing Huatulco airport which received 200,000 passengers last year.
ASUR runs nine airports throughout Mexico , including Cozumel, Merida, Minatitlan, Oaxaca, Tapachula, Veracruz and Villahermosa.
The group spend US$24 million in airport modernizations last year and plans to invest an extra US$14 million over the next five years under an agreement with the government.
