Augustinus Bader opens first Japanese store at Kansai International Airport

The partners celebrated the opening with a launch activation that highlighted The Overnight Restorative Cream alongside Discovery Kits which showcased the brand’s skincare heroes

Luxury skincare brand Augustinus Bader has opened its first permanent branded retail counter in Japan at KIX Duty Free in Kansai International Airport Terminal 1.

Opened on 25 September, the counter was opened in partnership with Kansai Airports Retail & Services (KRS) and Lagardère Travel Retail Japan.

The counter offers a curated selection of Augustinus Bader skincare, including travel retail-exclusive (TREX) moisturiser sets The Cream Duo and The Rich Cream Duo.

The brand’s hero The Cream and The Rich Cream are formulated with the brand’s key ingredient high-potency TFC8 – a complex that supports the skin’s natural renewal processes.

To support the opening, the brand hosted an in-store activation until 30 October, highlighting The Overnight Restorative Cream.

Travellers were able to sample Augustinus Discovery Kits during the event and experience the brand’s proprietary TFC8 technology first-hand.

In a statement, Augustinus Bader said: “More than a travel retail expansion, this opening represents a defining milestone in Augustinus Bader’s journey in Japan. It reinforces our long-term commitment to the Japanese market while leveraging travel retail as a strategic platform to reach new audiences, drive brand discovery and strengthen consumer engagement.”

As reported, The Moodie Davitt Report was on location for the official opening of the renovated Kansai International Airport (KIX) Terminal 1 in July. ✈
