JAPAN. Avolta has entered the Japanese market with the opening of four food & beverage concepts at Kansai International Airport (KIX) Terminal 1.
The announcement coincides with the formal completion of the fourth and final phase of the terminal’s multi-year renovation programme and the unveiling of a new commercial area. Read our on location story here.

The 500sq m Avolta portfolio forms part of the newly opened commercial zone and represents the company’s first operations in Japan, underlining its continued expansion across the Asia Pacific region.
The line-up includes the Japan debut of Avolta’s proprietary quick-service concept Fresh, which focuses on fresh and health-conscious food options.
The menu features Japanese-inspired pastas, salad bowls, rice burgers and smoothies, alongside grab-and-go sandwiches and locally sourced snacks.

Singapore-headquartered Chinese dining brand Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao has also made its Japanese airport debut through the KIX opening.
The 54-seat restaurant serves the brand’s signature hand-pulled noodles and xiao long bao, complemented by exclusive menu items including Sautéed Sliced Wagyu Beef with Scallion.
Avolta has also opened the first airport branch of Burger King in Japan. The outlet offers views of the airfield.
Completing the portfolio is Wolfgang Puck Kitchen Counter, which has also entered the Japanese market for the first time.

The concept combines Western-style dishes with a locally tailored grab-and-go offer, including Japanese sweets, rice snacks and specially developed bento boxes.
Avolta President and CEO Asia Pacific Freda Cheung commented: “The opening of our first stores in Japan is an important milestone for Avolta and a strong start for our operations in the country.
“Kansai International Airport is a major gateway for international and domestic travellers, and this portfolio allows us to bring market-first concepts, global brands and traveller-centric offerings into the terminal.
“We are proud to work with Kansai International Airport and to contribute to the continued transformation of Terminal 1, while building a platform for Avolta’s future growth in Japan.”
