Grey Goose Cherry Noir is the first new flavour from the brand in five years |
Bacardi Global Travel Retail has launched the first new flavour from Grey Goose Vodka in five years – Grey Goose Cherry Noir. Initially it will be exclusive to the US travel retail and local markets. It made its US domestic market debut earlier this year.
It combines Grey Goose vodka and cherries, including rare black cherries handpicked in French Basque country.
Under the supervision of the Grey Goose Maître de Chai (cellar master) François Thibault, Grey Goose vodka – made with French wheat and spring water from the Cognac region – is blended with the 100% natural essence of ripe cherries.
Thibault worked closely with one of the world’s leading flavour houses based in Grasse in the South of France. The houses are said to have established an international reputation for their expertise in extracting aromas and flavours from natural ingredients.
Grey Goose Cherry Noir has an aroma of fresh cherries and sweet red fruits. Its dark fruit flavours and layers of spice are followed by “a long, warm, lingering finish”, the company said.
“Grey Goose is the number one super premium vodka and continues to grow the category in travel retail,” said Bacardi Global Travel Retail Regional Director – Americas Leigh Irvine.
“The launch of a new Grey Goose flavour is guaranteed to attract significant buzz and excitement from the trade and consumers especially when it’s such a rare event.
“Since its launch earlier this year in the US domestic market, the demand for Grey Goose Cherry Noir has exceeded all expectations and we’re looking forward to repeating this success in travel retail.”
