Bijoux Terner, the Luxury at $10 retail concept, is ramping up its international store expansion strategy with a raft of new openings from now until the end of 2011.
The Miami-based value chain, which now counts nearly 700 locations worldwide, is opening at both Prague and New York JFK airports, on the Caribbean island of Curacao, and on the borders of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.
In other news, the focus for the “simple-price” concept is turning to new trends and category evolution, Vice President and General Manager of Travel Retail Worldwide Panos Argyros told The Moodie Report at the TFWA World Exhibition in September.
The watch category has been enhanced with more sporty looks, featuring acrylic, rubber, silicone and painted metal.
Other innovations are being introduced to textiles, bags and jewellery, he added. They include a minimalist approach to jewellery, coated canvas bags, microfibre accessories, and triple-layered scarves. “Animal print will continue to be a main driver for Bijoux Terner,” Argyros noted. “Creativity and trends are key.”

AdiXion store at Miami Airport performing strongly
Bijoux Terner’s new AdiXion multi-price retail concept is performing well in its first location at Miami Airport, according to Argyros.
The 650sq ft AdiXion store in Miami International’s South Terminal expands Bijoux Terner’s one-price product strategy with an enhanced assortment of fashion jewellery, handbags and accessories for men and women, presented in five different brands at simple price points ranging from US$20 to US$50 retail.
“We launched AdiXion after Orlando [IAADFS show in March 2011] and it’s doing great,” said Argyros. “Where we open up next will be selective. Our time, energy and focus will remain on our core brand Bijoux Terner; however it’s a great addition to be able to approach the market with multiple price points.”
He concluded: “Our core promise as a company remains:
