Premium spirits distributor Blue Caterpillar has announced a key distribution agreement with Sailor’s Home Irish Whiskey to represent the brand in global travel retail and domestic markets across the Americas.
The strategic move allows the brand to extend its global footprint and tap into this growing spirits market.
With the global Irish whiskey market projected to hit US$7.46 billion by 2028, growing at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.95% from 2022 to 2028, this partnership is set to benefit from the surge in interest in premium Irish whiskey.
Known for its distinctive approach to whiskey making, Sailor’s Home blends time-honoured methods with innovative techniques, resulting in flavourful expressions that appeal to modern consumers.
The agreement focuses on key distribution channels in global travel retail – a sector where Irish whiskey achieved a notable +66% increase in volume in 2022 alone.
With global travel demand seen to fully recover by 2025/2026, this collaboration is set to increase Sailor’s Home Irish Whiskey’s visibility and accessibility to international consumers.
Blue Caterpillar will manage distribution in key domestic markets across the Americas, complementing its global travel retail strategy and responding to the surge in demand for distinctive spirits.
Both companies noted their shared commitment to providing extraordinary taste experiences to whiskey enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
The Sailor’s Home Company CEO Cian Quilty said: “The partnership with Blue Caterpillar marks a significant milestone for The Sailor’s Home as we aim to make our Irish whiskey available to a wider global audience.
“The Sailor’s Home proposition is appealing to international explorers of great whiskeys in global travel retail. Our innovative approach to whiskey-making combined with Blue Caterpillar’s strong distribution capabilities and deep understanding of the GTR market presents a remarkable opportunity to bring delicious whiskey expressions and gifting solutions to discerning consumers worldwide.”
Blue Caterpillar Co-Founder & COO Christoph Henkel added: “The collaboration with The Sailor’s Home is aligned with our strategy to offer our customers not just premium products, but also compelling stories. The Sailor’s Home, with its commitment to quality, perfectly embodies the values our customers seek.”
To celebrate this partnership, The Sailor’s Home will be featured at Blue Caterpillar’s Stand during the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Green Village, J53). Company leaders will be available for meetings and discussions with industry peers, commercial partners and brand stakeholders.
