Budapest Airport to extend Trinity campaigns as partnership programmes boom

HUNGARY. Budapest Airport and iHeinemann Duty Free plan to extend their highly successful Trinity promotional programme to international brands in 2017 after achieving astounding success with several local product campaigns this year.

Each campaign is true to the spirit of the original ‘Trinity’ concept conceived by The Moodie Davitt Report in 2003, featuring close collaboration between airport, retailer and brands.

“Once again, with the close cooperation of our stakeholders, this year’s Trinity promotions have far exceeded our expectations,” said Budapest Airport Chief Commercial Officer Kam Jandu. “Trinity campaigns have a fantastic track record with our Hungarian products, so in 2017 we’re looking to branch out with international brands, taking full advantage of the upscale shopping experience at Budapest.”

A formidable alliance: Budapest Airport and Heinemann Duty Free have embraced the Trinity spirit with fervour

Budapest Airport has staged close to 50 Trinity campaigns since 2010, working in close partnership with Duty Free/Travel Value concessionaire Heinemann Duty Free. This year the alliance has worked on eight campaigns with Hungarian brands, including several leading wine producers such as Royal Tokaji, Bock Winery, Patricius, and Vida & Vylyan, as well as Bestillo Palinka liqueurs and Merian gourmet foods.

Take your Pick: Budapest Airport and its retail and brand partners are proving the value of the Trinity partnership concept

Budapest Airport commented: “With some brands experiencing a sales increase exceeding +580%, the staging of Trinity campaigns has steadily proven to be the most effective retail promotion for the Hungarian gateway and its retail partners.”

Each campaign has been centred in Terminal 2B’s SkyCourt retail promotional space. In September, Hungary’s famous Zwack Unicum featured in its seventh Trinity promotion.

rsz_bud_zwackJandu said: “Our core aspiration is to drive retail sales forward, and with this year’s renewed retail and F&B offer, SkyCourt continues to prove its outstanding value, both for passengers and the airport.”
