Bushmills marks St. Patrick’s Day with The Moodie Davitt Report and celebrates one year of Black Bush 80/20 expression

The 40% ABV, 80% single malt whiskey has become a popular addition to the range since its launch in 2022

INTERNATIONAL. Proximo Spirits and Bushmills Irish whiskey are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day (17 March) with a vibrant homepage makeover of The Moodie Davitt Report website, starting today.

The makeover carries a focus on Proximo Spirits’ travel retail-exclusive line, Bushmills Black Bush 80/20 PX Cask Reserve, which has been selling strongly in the the channel since its launch one year ago.

Proximo Spirits continues to work on a series of exciting Bushmills product launches, and this is the third year in which the company has developed a travel retail-exclusive expression.

In 2021 it launched 10 Year Old Sherry Cask, in 2022 came the 80/20 expression and recently for 2023 the company released the rare 33 Year Old Port Cask.

The latter is being sold exclusively through World Duty Free stores across Heathrow Airport, including World of Whiskies shops, from 1 March.

The 33 Year Old is also the tenth and final release from its Causeway Collection.

‘More malt, more character’ – the 80/20 expression in video

The 80/20 PX Cask Reserve, an 80% single malt whiskey, is finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and blended with 20% fine Irish grain whiskey.

The amber gold liquid has a 40% ABV enhanced with the sweetness of Pedro Ximénez sherry. On the nose, it offers big, bold aromas of rich fruitcake. On the palate, the liquid has a distinctive toasted nut character, hints of allspice, ripe peaches and with a soft and silky mouth feel and long finish.

Bushmills Black Bush 8020 PX Cask Reserve comes in a one-litre format.
