Campari Global Travel Retail has launched a summer promotion for its Italian aperitif brand Aperol at Zurich Airport, which will roll out across other key European airport locations through August.
The Aperol Spritz Funky activation kicked off at Nuance’s arrival store at Zurich Airport on 3 June followed by its departures store on 17 June. It will end its run at the two stores at the end of August and on 14 July respectively.
The activation, which features the bright orange colour of Aperol and a funky atmosphere, is meant to reflect the social and easygoing aspect of the Aperol Spritz cocktail.

Described by Campari as “the ultimate social drink”, the Aperol Spritz is made up of Prosecco, Aperol and a splash of soda water poured into an ice filled glass – garnished with a slice of fresh orange.
Travellers are invited to play the orange piano or simply to taste and enjoy an Aperol Spritz. As part of the promotion, customers who buy a bottle of Aperol will receive a pair of branded Aperol earphones.
Gruppo Campari Global Travel Retail Director Andy Holmes said: “Aperol Spritz is all about sharing warm, social, convivial moments together and we feel music helps add that sparkle to these occasions. As our target consumers travel a lot, we want to entertain them during their journey through the airports and the Aperol Spritz booths will be the perfect spot to spend some time in a lively, funky area.”
In July the campaign will roll out at Frankfurt, Hamburg, Basel, Milano Malpensa (Schengen Area) and Rome (shop 5) airports. Through the months of August and September an Aperol Spritz Funky pop-up store will run in Milan Malpensa Airport, at the Schengen area.
