Cuvée 3.140 is the fourth Cognac in the Camus Masterpiece Collection by Cyril Camus |
Camus Cognac is to unveil Cuvée 3.140, the fourth in the Masterpiece Collection by Cyril Camus, at the 2012 TFWA Asia Pacific show (Stand number: K13).
The Masterpiece Collection by Cyril Camus is described as the culmination of Cyril Camus’ mission to discover the rarest eaux-de-vie and offer them to connoisseurs in a crystal Baccarat decanter. The decanter, which is sealed with a leather lace adorned by a 24ct gold clover leaf, was created by the famous French sculptor Serge Mansau.
The elegant, handcrafted wooden presentation case is covered with hand-stitched Italian leather.
Cuvée 3.140 is released worldwide in a limited edition of 950 decanters.
Aromatic personality
The Signature spirit celebrates the Cognac-making skills of the House of Camus, which was founded in 1863 and is now headed by Cyril Camus, the fifth generation of the family.
The Cognac contains a 65-year guaranteed minimum age Grande Champagne, described as elegant, with rounded tannins and a full and balanced style; a 39-year guaranteed minimum age Petite Champagne – soft, generous and light which combines with the Grande Champagne to develop notes of fruit, toast, cedar, almonds; and a 36-year guaranteed minimum age Bons Bois, providing a balance between strength and finesse.
The 36-year guaranteed minimum age Bons Bois was matured in Camus’ Cellar no 3. Its aromatic personality was subtly influenced by the tannin from century-old Limousin oak.
Tasting notes
Excellent balance on the nose with a rare, complex vibrancy and aromatic notes of prunes, citrus fruits and delicate wood undertones.
On the palate, a combination of wood and coffee is said to provide an excellent contrast between the character of the wood and freshness.
The finish is long and warm with a lingering memory of dried fruit, spice, wood, flowers – jasmine in particular – and a hint of lemon.
