CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has captured the departures duty-free concession at Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal. The store is currently in a soft opening phase with an official inauguration planned for 12 September.

Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal is the largest cruise port in China by passenger traffic, serving over 60% of the country’s inbound and outbound cruise passengers. Several major luxury cruise liners currently operate from Wusongkou as their home port.

CDFG said the departures duty-free store offers direct access to China’s largest and most stable outbound cruise passenger base.

The retailer pledges a diverse multi-category offer in generous space with high-class service at its newest cruise port store

In recent years, Shanghai has prioritised the development of its cruise economy, positioning itself as the “first stop for inbound tourism in China”. Concurrently, Baoshan District – home to the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal – has been advancing the development of the Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort to further consolidate the city’s maritime appeal.

Against this backdrop, CDFG said the launch of its store at Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal will help enhance the inbound tourism consumption experience and amplify the economic impact of the cruise sector.

CDFG said customers can expect a diverse retail offering and an enjoyable retail experience. To celebrate the opening, the retailer is offering limited-time promotional activities with additional discounts on selected items. 🛳️
