CDFG heats up winter shopping with big year-end campaign

CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has unleashed the fifth CDF Hainan Offshore Duty Free Year-End Campaign, a major shopping festival running from 15 November to 31 December designed to drive consumption during the holiday season.

CDFG is collaborating with its six duty free stores (cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex, cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex, cdf Haikou Mova Mall Store, cdf Sanya Phoenix Airport Duty Free Store, cdf Haikou Meilan Airport Duty Free Store, and cdf Qionghai Bo’ao Duty Free Store) to offer a wide array of exciting activities.

High-flying promotion: CDFG has partnered with Hainan Airlines and Juneyao to offer duty free-themed promotions onboard

The campaign covers online and offline channels, offering a diverse range of brands and premium goods. To stimulate year-end shopping, CDFG is engaging customers through various themed activities, new store openings, cross-sector partnerships, exhibitions, shows, and celebrity visits to offline stores.

In crafting an immersive customer experience, CDFG is collaborating with airline partners to introduce duty free-themed flights.

On 15 November, in conjunction with CDF Haikou Riyue Plaza Duty Free Store and CDF Haikou Meilan Airport Duty Free Store, cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex partnered with Hainan Airlines on flight HU7782 from Beijing to Haikou.

Crew members interacted with passengers through quizzes and offered shopping benefits. Similar duty free-themed offerings were featured on Juneyao Air’s Nanjing to Sanya HO1747 flight, including canapes and shopping benefits. This enhanced customer awareness of duty free shopping and enriched the onboard experience, CDFG said.

Other themed activities at CDFG’s offline stores include the CDF Handbag Festival and CDF Wine Festival, both designed to create an integrated duty free shopping and travel experience.

For the CDF Handbag Festival, the travel retailer partnered with tier-one international luxury brands in a campaign that ran until 30 November.

The cdf Wine Festival – embracing wines & spirits – featured a Bowmore single malt Scotch whisky tasting experience in mid-November. And as reported, cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex last week hosted the global duty free launch of ultra-premium Camus Cuvée 4.186 Electrum Cognac.

cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex is also presenting a themed week-long campaign aligned with the CDF Wine Festival featuring limited-edition wines & spirits and interactive experiences.

Ongoing promotions include the ‘Christmas Wonder Shopping Season’ and New Year Celebration, both campaigns enhancing the shopping journey with fun, excitement and diverse offerings, CDFG said.

cdf Haikou Mova Mall store has introduced a premium liquor express delivery service for CDF members, ensuring wines & spirits delivery within two hours to customers within an eight-kilometre radius.

cdf Haikou Mova Mall has also unveiled the cdf Lighting Life event, focusing on the latest lifestyle trends and creating various social scenarios, from surfskates to coffee and pets. This delivers a fun, interactive, and visually appealing experience, CDFG said.

“As a world-leading travel retailer, CDFG collaborates with thousands of world-renowned brands at year-end to offer diverse luxury goods, splendidly themed activities, varied interactions, and premium services,” the company said.

“This initiative aims to engage all customers in this significant event and continuously innovate duty free shopping scenarios to foster consumption.”
