FRANCE. Chocolat Weiss, the official licensed manufacturer of the Rugby World Cup confectionery product line, has reported a successful international travel retail debut – having obtained listings with major retailers such as Aelia, The Nuance Group, CDG Participations and Dubai Duty Free.
Themed products have been installed in numerous airport stores and other travel retail outlets, in rugby-ball shaped vending modules featuring the official International Rugby Board (IRB) Rugby World Cup Logo.
Major airports where the products can be found include Paris Charles de Gaulle, Orly South and West, Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport, London Heathrow, London City, Glasgow Prestwick, Bristol, Cardiff, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Dubai International Airport, Lisbon and Faro Airports, Nice Côte d’ Azur, Marseille, Lyon Saint Exupéry, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nantes, Montpellier, and Lille.
Other travel retail locations featuring the products include the Eurotunnel terminal in Calais and the Eurostar shop at Gare du Nord.
France’s Aelia group is displaying firm support for the Rugby World Cup, due to start in early September, with 51 installations of the vending modules across its international network (France is among the favourites to win the Cup).
The Rugby World Cup Confectionery line comprises five products featuring milk and dark chocolate items, retailing between €3 and €19.
The range includes a set of 25 chocolate rugby ball miniatures, a chocolate Eiffel Tower, and chocolate medallions showing the Webb Ellis cup.
Also in this range is a 50 gram dairy milk praline bar stamped with the IRB World cup logo, the Webb Ellis Cup, and the Weiss signature – it retails at € 3.
Chocolat Weiss will be exhibiting at booth K17 (Red Village) at the TFWA Exhibition in Cannes.
