Clarks opens new store at Heathrow terminal one – 09/12/05

UK. Footwear specialist Clarks has opened a new store at London Heathrow Airport terminal one through BAA.

The 82sq m store features Clarks men’s and women’s shoes and handbags as well as a range of other footwear brands, including Loake, Barkers, Caterpillar, Merrell, Timberland and Oliver Sweeney.

Prices range from £40 upwards.

The new Clarks global shopfit concept will be implemented for the first time on airport. The design features a clean, white, streamlined modern backdrop, providing a well-lit dramatic “˜catwalk’ to draw the eye to the shoes.

BAA said: “Spacious seating, high gloss mirrors and the hottest trends in footwear complete the ultimate shoe shopping experience. The store will be laid out with a dominance of men’s product but with a sizeable presence of women’s.”

BAA UK Airport Retail Managing Director Colin Hargrave said: “We are excited to introduce the first Clarks global store concept on airport. As a business we are continuously working on innovative new store concepts and welcome new ideas from partners and retailers.

“I am sure that this new store will be incredibly successful – especially with the wide range of brands it will be adding to the great selection of men’s products available at BAA airports.”
