Cloetta Global Travel Retail introduces Red Band Real Fruit Candy

Cloetta Global Travel Retail (GTR) has launched Red Band Real Fruit Candy, a line which the confectionery company says delivers on key consumer trends and is an important part of its innovation strategy.

As reported, Cloetta GTR announced plans to reveal a new product under its Red Band range late last year.

With a ‘50% fruit, 100% candy’ tagline, Red Band Real Fruit is a vegan product. It contains fruit purée and juices to offer a fresh taste while maintaining a candy-like texture. The diamond-shaped candy is available in two flavour mixes – Fruit & Berries and Fruit & Citrus – in 200g standing pouches.

According to Cloetta GTR, the response to the new product from travel retailers has been “overwhelmingly positive”, with listings from Dufry already confirmed. Other listings are imminent.

 

Red Band is one of Cloetta’s biggest and most valuable brands with roots going back to 1928.

The brand is known for its range of popular Dutch candies including fruit drops, gum drops and liquorice. Red Band Sharing Bags of Swedish Fish & Sour Suckers were launched last year.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for products with more natural ingredients,” Cloetta GTR stated. “However, it is challenging to develop a product that contains a high level of fruit yet meets the consumers’ expectations of candy.

“Fruit-based candy is a completely new type of product in the candy category and a result of long-term innovation and development work.” ✈
