Delhi Duty Free meets dark rum demand with Old Monk

Old Monk is already hugely popular in India

Delhi Duty Free has begun selling Old Monk dark rum in Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport, meeting what it said was strong demand for the brand.

The retailer said Old Monk is currently the largest selling dark rum in India, as well as being the biggest Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) brand in the country.

Launched in 1954, it is a vatted dark rum, blended and aged for a minimum of seven years. It is said to have a distinct vanilla flavour, with an alcohol content of 40%, and has added shelf presence as a result of its distinctive bottles.

Delhi Duty Free is retailing Old Monk Deluxe Rum at US$10, Old Monk Supreme Rum at US$15 and Old Monk Legend at US$20.

“With an overwhelming response for this legendary rum we are happy to reintroduce two variants and add one more variant to the portfolio at Delhi Duty Free,” said Delhi Duty Free CEO Duncan Lawley.

“This is part of our constant endeavour to enhance the shopping experience of our travellers who have special love for this dark rum.”
