DFP World appoints Valentina Nanni to key Zimbabwe duty-free role

Valentina Nanni is a graduate of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, with experience in translating brand and category strategies into in-store environments

ZIMBABWE. DFP World has appointed Valentina Nanni as Visual Merchandising Manager as it develops a three-store duty-free network across two international airports in Zimbabwe.

Nanni will oversee visual merchandising and advertising across the network, helping shape store environments, brand presentation and the overall passenger shopping experience.

The development covers Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare, where a flagship store is being developed, and Victoria Falls International Airport.

DFP World is building what it describes as the country’s first fully brand-approved airport duty-free network.

The company said all products are sourced directly from brand owners or their authorised travel retail channels, excluding parallel and grey-market stock.

Operations are managed from the group’s Dubai headquarters through an integrated platform supported by its proprietary artificial intelligence system, ARTA.

DFP World is also a Strategic Partner of the Zimbabwe Business Council for the UAE.

DFP World Head of the Airport Expansion Team Aidai Usubakunova commented: “We are building a channel the world’s brands can trust.

“A fully brand-approved, structured platform – run from Dubai, delivered on the ground in Zimbabwe – means partners get a world-class sense of place and complete confidence in how their brands are presented. Valentina’s appointment is part of how we guarantee that standard.”

Nanni’s appointment comes ahead of the Middle East & Africa Duty Free Association (MEADFA) Conference, taking place in Rabat, Morocco, from 15 to 17 November.

DFP World is a Platinum Sponsor of the event, which marks the association’s 25th anniversary and its first conference in Morocco. DFP will use the gathering to engage with brand owners, airport landlords and distributors as it pursues its expansion strategy in Africa. ✈
