Diageo reveals travel retail-exclusive The Singleton Gardens of Abundance single malt range

The Gardens of Abundance whiskies pay homage to earth’s bounty

Diageo Global Travel has launched a travel retail-exclusive The Singleton collection called Gardens of Abundance featuring four single malt whiskies: Radiant Spring Garden, Golden Autumn Orchard, Exotic Spice Grove and Deep Forest Riches.

In August, the series will be available at Singapore Changi (Lotte Duty Free), Delhi Indira Gandhi International (Delhi Duty Free), Dubai International (Dubai Duty Free) and London Heathrow (World Duty Free by Avolta) airports. It will then be rolled out across additional travel retail doors in the following months.

The Singleton Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson said: “This is one of the most exciting collections we have ever worked on. These are flavour-first whiskies that let us push the boundaries of our craft. The Singleton team and I are incredibly proud of them, and I can’t wait for people to sample and explore.

“Inspired by seasonality, we developed flavours that evoke specific times and places. We focused on environments that inspired emotions and aromas, influencing not only the whisky but also the naming, recipes and wood types used for aging.

“The first variant, Radiant Spring Garden, reflects the terroir of the distillery and its surroundings. As the collection progresses, it incorporates more exotic influences.

“The whiskies evolve from light, grassy notes to mature orchards, sweet spice groves and rich forest woodiness.

“Opening a bottle from this range is like stepping into a secret garden, with aromas of blooming flowers, fresh herbs and ripe fruits, promising a unique sensory journey.”

Radiant Spring Garden has been matured in select white oak casks, and it features notes of green apples, apricots and citrus. It has a recommended retail price (RRP) of £55 (US$71).

Golden Autumn Orchard, with a £80 (US$103) RRP, has been double oak matured in ex-bourbon and American white oak casks. The palette comprises toffee apples, and poached pears in syrup, alongside hints of vanilla and butterscotch.

Exotic Spice Grove, RRP £150 (US$194), has been triple cask matured, first rested in ex-wine and rejuvenated casks before married together in reserve oak casks. Notes of spiced honey and berries lead to fig jam, cinnamon and nutmeg.

The collection is rounded up with Deep Forest Riches, first matured in European oak before finishing in palo cortado, Marsala wine and Pedro Ximénez/oloroso seasoned casks. The RRP £220 (US$284) whisky incorporates notes of dried fruits, dates and dark chocolate.
