INTERNATIONAL. Here’s another chance to win a great prize in our Strange Predictions* contest hosted by Strange Nature Gin of New Zealand as our popular readers’ competition makes a welcome return.
We’re asking travel retail and aviation sector stakeholders to pick the results of the FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina on Sunday (19 July), and the Bronze Final between France and England, which precedes that match on Saturday (18 July).
As with all our Strange Predictions competitions, the winners (the top two points scorers overall) will each receive a bottle of the outstanding Strange Nature Gin, whose spirit base is drawn from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Strange indeed (but very, very good).
World Cup Final (Sunday 19 July)
Question 1: Predict the score (in 90’ + Stoppage Time) in the FIFA World Cup Final; points will also be allocated where the winner is accurately selected but the scoreline is not.
Question 2: Which player will score the first goal? Entrants can also select ‘no goal scorer’ for 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes.
Question 3 (Tie Breaker): In what minute will the first goal be scored?
World Cup Bronze Final (Saturday 18 July)
Question 1: Predict the score (in 90’ + Stoppage Time) in the FIFA World Cup Bronze Final; points will also be allocated where the winner is accurately selected but the scoreline is not.
Question 2: Which player will score the first goal? Entrants can also select ‘no goal scorer’ for 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes.
Rules
- Only entries from bona-fide members of the travel retail and aviation community will be accepted.
- 5 points for predicting the correct score of each game, 2 points for predicting the correct result.
- Score predictions are for the 90 minutes + stoppage time. If 90 mins finishes 0-0 & 2-0 after extra time, 0-0 predictions receive 3 points, 2-0 receives no points.
- 2 points awarded for predicting the first goal scorer in each match (No Goal Scorer can be selected if you predict the match will finish goalless).
- Should there be a tie, then the entrant who came closest to guessing the minute of the first goal in the FIFA World Cup Final will be the winner.
Click on the entry form to submit your prediction; entries must be in by Saturday 18 July, 22.00 BST (before the Bronze Final begins). ✈
*Strange PredictionsStrange Nature, the quirky super-premium New Zealand gin from Marlborough, which has gained impressive traction in travel retail and selected local markets since its launch in October 2021, is partnering with The Moodie Davitt Report in a pioneering readers’ competition called Strange Predictions. The programme features a series of predictive contests designed to test readers’ punditry skills across a myriad of events, ranging from sporting contests to political elections and other intriguing – and sometimes strange – events. Strange Nature General Manager – Owner Rhys Julian said: “At Strange Nature we like to embrace the strange. We consider our gin to be stranger than most, considering its grape origins, one botanical as well as sustainability and traceability credentials. “Therefore, in fitting with the brand we thought partnering with The Moodie Davitt Report’s Strange Predictions was a perfect fit. A fun competition for everyone, slightly left of centre, is very much our vibe.” |
