
UK. Edrington has launched The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release, a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky that celebrates the legacy of the well-known James Bond film.
From 3 to 16 February the whisky will be available in travel retail exclusively at The Macallan Boutique at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, operated in partnership with Avolta. It will also appear in selected domestic market locations.
Priced at US$750, the whisky will subsequently roll out to The Macallan’s other airport boutiques globally from 17 February.
The launch marks 55 years since the James Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever, first appeared on the silver screen. According to The Macallan, the whisky draws on its namesake’s themes of craftsmanship, intrigue and storytelling.

The Diamonds are Forever 55th Anniversary Release continues the creative collaboration between The Macallan and the film franchise following the James Bond 60th Anniversary Release in 2022.
Crafted by Whisky Maker Russell Greig, the expression was distilled in 2007 and matured for 18 years. It is shaped by a bespoke combination of hybrid casks, crafted from sherry-seasoned European and American oak, alongside American oak casks that previously held red wine.
The cask selection is intended to echo moments from the film where Bond’s knowledge of wine helps uncover vital clues.
On the nose, the expression offers polished oak, vanilla bean and rich dried fruits. The palate offers flavours of smooth caramel and cocoa-dusted truffles, complemented by fruit-driven notes and a hint of nutmeg, leading to a long, refined finish.

Bottled at 45.5% ABV, the whisky’s natural colour is inspired by the red and orange Aztec sandstone of the Nevada desert surrounding Las Vegas, one of the film’s key locations.
The bottle and presentation pack draw directly from original Diamonds Are Forever production artwork housed in the official Bond archives, referencing elements such as the laser-beam satellite and the film’s opening title sequence.
Edrington notes the design underlines The Macallan’s ongoing focus on storytelling through both whisky-making and visual craftsmanship.
