Diverse Flavours sees success for South African wines in Asia

SOUTH AFRICA. Diverse Flavours, the newly-created exporter of South African wines, food and beverages, has announced a series of new listings in the Asian region with leading operators.

Anthony Budd, co-founder of the company, has achieved listings for his portfolio of premium South African wines in the South Korean market; with DFS Singapore; and at Thai Duty Free shops with Bangkok Airways (see listings news below).

Updating The Moodie Report on the firm’s progress since our last article in July, Budd enthused: “Our Korean Air listing of Hidden Valley Secret [2006 vintage wine] is doing very well. A good start, but plenty more to do!”

Budd will be in Cannes from October 17-22 during the TFWA World Exhibition to discuss his premium South African wine portfolio with potential buyers.

Deetlefs Estate Range launched in South Korea

Soon after the final whistle blew on the highly successful 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa, The Deetlefs Wine Estate launched its Deetlefs Estate Range into the South Korean market.

The range will be spearheaded by the Deetlefs Estate Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin Blanc, and will be distributed by Sooseok Trading Company Limited to department stores, specialist liquor stores, hotels and top restaurants and bars in Seoul and major cities.

DFS Singapore launches new premium South African wine range

DFS Singapore has launched a new range of premium South African wines into their Departures and Arrivals duty free shops at Changi Airport.

The wines from three of South Africa’s premier wine estates include: Avondale Camissa Syrah 2005, Avondale Chenin Blanc 2009, Avondale MCC (NV); Deetlef’s Familie Red 2005, Deetlef’s Familie White 2007; Hidden Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2010, and Hidden Valley Secret 2007.

Bangkok Airways launches Stonecross into Thai Duty Free shops

Bangkok Airways, which operates the duty free shops at Koh Samui and U-Tapao airports in Thailand, has launched the Stonecross range which includes the 2010 Chenin-Chardonnay, 2008 Merlot-Pinotage and 2008 Shiraz.

Stonecross is one of the wine ranges produced by The Deetlefs Estate, South Africa’s third oldest wine estate under the ownership of the same family since 1822.
