UAE. Dubai Airports has released the official Expression of Interest document for the advertising concession in Dubai International’s Concourse 3. As revealed in The Moodie Report this week, the airport authority is asking interested parties to register their interest by January 5 2012, and will issue Requests for Proposals to pre-selected companies during the first quarter of the year.
Concourse 3, which will be dedicated to the Emirates Airline A380, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012. The facility will have 20 aircraft contact gates in addition to 13 remote stands. Built over 11 floors, the 528,000sq m facility will feature 11,000sq m of retail area, four and five star hotels, restaurants and two food courts.
Dubai Airports Senior Vice President – Commercial Eugene Barry said: “We have seen significant developments in advertising performance in 2011, and considering Dubai International’s status as a global hub with a unique user profile, and as one of the world’s top five busiest airports, the case for continued growth is compelling. This represents a tremendous opportunity.”
Barry added: “As the world’s first A380-dedicated facility capable of handling 19 million passengers yearly, Concourse 3 will be a very important part of our infrastructure. As a brand, Dubai Airports is globally associated with quality and innovation and we are keen to choose partners who will add to that reputation.”
Barry also told The Moodie Report: “Our advertising revenues have increased significantly in 2011 due to a focused approach in attracting leading brands and exploring innovative solutions such as digital or dominant campaigns.”
JCDecaux currently manages the advertising business across Dubai Airport’s terminals.
