CARIBBEAN. Dufry America has announced the promotion of Alan Huxtable as the new Retail Director for the Caribbean and member of the regional Dufry management board.
The move is a boost to one of the group’s most ambitious retail operations. Huxtable joined Weitnauer (now Dufry) in 1990 as the General Manager of Newark International Airport. In 1997 he was promoted to Director of Cancun, Cozumel, Mexico Duty Free and Duty Paid.
In 2000, he relocated to Miami as Purchasing Manager in the PCM department and was recently promoted to Senior Purchasing Manager for Americas and Caribbean (fragrances, cosmetics, watches, eyewear and luxury brands).
Prior to joining the group, Huxtable worked for JL Brandeis Department Stores, Richman Gordman Stores, Aramark, and Delaware North Company.
Dufry Americas & Caribbean Chief Operating Officer Jose González said: “Alan has been an outstanding leader at each location and with every assignment in our region. It is with great pleasure that we welcome him to this new assignment – one of the most important growing parts of the business of the Americas.”
