UAE. Travel retailer Dufry Sharjah has partnered with leading coffee brand Costa Coffee to open the first Costa outlet at Sharjah International Airport. It opened last month as part of Sharjah’s commercial expansion, in which duty free concessionaire Dufry is playing a leading role.
The Costa Coffee outlet is located in the airport’s new terminal and is open to all passengers.
Eugene Barry, General Manager of Dufry Sharjah, said: “We are excited about the forthcoming expansion of the airport’s commercial sites, the first of which is the introduction of Costa Coffee. The commitment of Sharjah Airport is to deliver the best to its growing and diversified passenger base, and Dufry Sharjah is working to upgrade the retail and commercial mix at the airport.”
Ali Salem Al Midfa, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “This is the first step towards many international Food & Beverage concepts to come. Our choice customer service programme is continuously adapted to exceed general passenger expectations. We are happy to offer all our passengers the best in every aspect of their travel. Initially Costa Coffee has one outlet at the new terminal and will expand in the future to other areas within the airport.”
Costa Coffee UAE is a division of Emirates Leisure Retail. Under a US$60 million expansion programme, Sharjah Airport is raising capacity to 8 million passengers a year. As part of this expansion it is upgrading all commercial areas.
