UK. British luxury men’s clothing and accessories brand Dunhill, which has undergone an image overhaul in the past year, is advancing further into the Chinese market with new airport stores.
According to Hong Kong-based General Manager, Travel Retail and Export, Gable Merrick, Dunhill has a “very strong” presence in China with 62 stores. A new Dunhill outlet opened in Canton Road, Hong Kong, in February 2005, to add to its latest 125sq m boutique in Macau which began trading in October 2004.
In mainland China, Dunhill has an airport presence in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Qingdao. It will add to this roster with two new boutique openings, at Dalian Airport and Shenyang Airport, both in July 2005.
Product-wise, Dunhill introduced the younger Motorities leathergoods line in April 2005, which has sold well and is slated for a wider roll-out, according to Merrick.

In April, Dunhill launched a medium-priced nylon and leather wallet called Sidecar Amber, and for September 2005, a new collection of top-end leather wallets with contrasting colours on the inside and outside will be introduced.
