MACAO. Giorgio Armani has announced the opening of an Emporio Armani store at DFS Galleria Macao in The Shoppes at Four Seasons, Cotai Strip. The new retail space covers over 200sq m on one floor.
Described as “much more than a fashion boutique”, the new store embodies Giorgio Armani’s vision of the urban cosmopolitan spirit that Emporio Armani represents. It offers the complete Emporio Armani lifestyle collection for men and women, including formal wear, casual wear, accessories, watches, eyewear and jewellery.
Giorgio Armani, together with a team of in-house architects, designed the store following the image of the already opened Emporio Armani stores in Miami – Bal Harbour, Cannes, Houston, Forte dei Marmi and Panama.

The floors are made of beige tatami material that contrast with the black glass of the walls. The ceiling, which alternates stainless steel panels with shiny beige marmorino, features recessed lights. The external façade includes one window framed by black glass and a big screen projecting the Autumn/Winter 2008/2009 collections. One large backlit image, featuring the current advertising campaigns, dominates the central area.
The overall impression is of modernity mixed with the essence of Emporio Armani in an unexpected and elegant way to create the perfect surroundings for the products, the company said.
Giorgio Armani said of the new opening: “Macao is one of the world’s most important business, social and international hubs with a quickly rising reputation for being style-conscious. This new Emporio Armani store therefore represents an important addition to our fast-growing network of travel retail locations.”
DFS Galleria Macao is one of the key locations included in the Armani group’s ongoing fast-track expansion programme in the duty free and travel retail marketplace.
A photographic journey from 1989 to 2005
Emporio Armani’s new store at DFS Galleria Macao is hosting a photographic exhibition of fashion images taken from the celebrated Emporio Armani Magazine.
The ‘Momenti di Emporio Armani’ exhibition brings together a selection of 200 photographs taken from the magazine, which was published between 1989 and 1997.
Curated by Art Director, Rosanna Armani, the symbolic images aim to express the aesthetic values of modern youth and lifestyles in the world’s iconic cities.
The pictures depict the evolution of the body, revealing new aspects of beauty highlighted by both clothes and gestures, in a fusion of East and West.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 29 August at the Emporio Armani store in Macao at DFS Galleria Macao, Level 1, The Shoppes at Four Seasons, Cotai Strip.
