Leading ophthalmic optics company Essilor has teamed up with DFS Group for the introduction of Bolon’s 2015 sunwear collection in Asia travel retail.
To mark the Chinese New Year, the Bolon collection was launched at select DFS airport stores and downtown Gallerias in Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong and two locations in China.
Designed and manufactured by China’s Xiamen Yarui Optical, Bolon is said to be one of the best known sunglass brands in China. Positioned in the mid-range segment, Bolon joined the Essilor portfolio after the group acquired a 50% stake in Xiamen Yarui Optical in 2013. The new partnership with DFS aims to reinforce the brand’s leading position among Chinese consumers.
DFS Group Senior Vice President, Watches, Jewellery, Accessories & Sunglasses Christophe Chaix has expressed his delight with the new partnership, adding that DFS is anticipating “a very positive reaction” from its Chinese consumers.
Essilor Group Travel Retail Vice President Francesco Leccisi added: “We are pleased and enthusiastic to launch Bolon at [an] international level, servicing our international and Chinese consumers in the exclusive environment [provided by] DFS.”
