SWITZERLAND. EuroAirport Basel Mulhaus Freiburg (EAP) registered a +30% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic to 3.3 million in 2005, the Swiss airport authority has reported. The number of landings and take-offs were up +6.0% to 82,142, boosted by improved capacity.
EAP says it expects around 4.3 million passengers for 2006, unless a pandemic, oil prices or possible terrorist attacks affect business.
Zürich Airport served 17.9 million passengers, up +3.7%, according to airport operator Flughafen Zürich (Unique). The number of transit passengers climbed by +9.9% to 5.3 million.
Geneva Airport saw a passenger traffic boost of +9.5% to a record 9.41 million. The number of landings and take-offs grew by +3.2%.
