Exclusive: iCoupon tops 1 billion passengers as intelligent vouchering gains global momentum

INTERNATIONAL. Market-leading aviation intelligent vouchering specialist iCoupon has passed a landmark threshold, with its airline partner base now capable of serving more than 1 billion passengers across airports where its platform is live.

The figure, calculated from contracted airline passenger traffic supported by OAG network data, underlines both the company’s rapid international expansion and the growing adoption of connected digital passenger services by airlines, airports and travel retailers.

Importantly, the 1 billion passenger total reflects only airports where airline partners have already deployed the platform. With many customers still extending roll-outs across additional airports and routes, considerable growth potential remains within iCoupon’s existing customer base, the company noted.

The achievement underlines iCoupon’s transformation from a digital replacement for paper airline disruption vouchers into the aviation industry’s leading intelligent vouchering platform, connecting airlines, airports and travel retailers through a single integrated ecosystem.

Today the network spans almost 200 airline partners, more than 400 airports and over 4,000 retail outlets across 56 countries. During 2025 alone, the company issued more than £100 million (US$134.8 million) in digital vouchers.

At the recent 2026 Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Conference and Awards, iCoupon Director of Sales Global Viktoriya Soubra (second from right above) joined The Moodie Davitt Report President Dermot Davitt (right) on stage for a discussion on technology and its key role in passenger experience. The network’s scale is increasingly translating into measurable commercial returns. According to iCoupon, airport retailers using the platform record average passenger spend growth of +127%, while targeted promotional campaigns lift airline voucher redemption rates to 37%.

The company’s evolution mirrors a broader shift towards collaboration across the aviation value chain. As The Moodie Davitt Report noted in an exclusive interview with CEO Richard Bye in 2024, the ability to connect airlines, airports and retailers in a commercially beneficial ecosystem has long represented an aviation industry ‘holy grail’.

Two years on, the scale of the iCoupon network suggests that ambition is steadily becoming reality as digital passenger engagement expands beyond disruption management into retail promotions, ancillary revenue generation and wider passenger services.

As a key player in the aviation sector, the iCoupon team is a regular at major industry conferences and exhibitions around the world

iCoupon CEO Richard Bye told The Moodie Davitt Report: “Reaching the point where we are able to support 1 billion of our airline partners’ passengers is a huge achievement for the whole team, not only because of the number itself, but also because of what it represents.

“More airlines are looking for connected digital solutions that improve the passenger experience while simplifying operations behind the scenes. We’re so proud to be supporting that transition across an increasingly global network and the industry as a whole.”

Unlike traditional paper-based systems, iCoupon enables airlines to issue digital vouchers and passenger entitlements directly to boarding passes and other digital credentials, allowing passengers to redeem offers across participating retailers, hospitality operators and transport providers without downloading an app or sharing personal data.

The company has continued to strengthen its international footprint, reporting particularly strong momentum across the Americas, including Latin America, while existing airline partners continue extending deployments across their global airport networks.

Bye concluded: “This milestone belongs to the airlines, airports, retailers and technology partners who have worked alongside us over the last decade. Every new connection strengthens the network, creating more choice for passengers and helping our partners respond more efficiently when it matters most.

“As existing airline partners continue expanding deployments across additional airports and new organisations join the network, we expect the number of passengers able to benefit from the platform to continue growing exponentially.”
