Turkish niche fragrance house Fatima 1932 has expanded its travel retail network with openings at Istanbul and Jeddah airports.
Fatima 1932 is available with the Gebr. Heinemann-led joint venture Unifree Duty Free at Istanbul Airport and Jeddah Duty Free at Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport.
Four further airport duty-free partnerships are currently in development as the brand continues its expansion in the channel.
The openings represent the latest step in Fatima 1932’s international growth strategy and bring the brand’s niche fragrances and Turkish heritage to travellers across two key aviation hubs, the company said.
Fatima 1932 traces its origins to Mesopotamia, a region with a long history of perfume-making.

Its brand identity is centred on the love story of Founder Fatma Semiz’s paternal grandmother Fatima, who was born in 1932 and lived in the ancient city of Bakarda at the heart of Mesopotamia.
Fatima and her lover waited seven years to be together, meeting each morning in their rose gardens – a ritual that subsequently became the inspiration behind Fatima 1932.

The story also draws on Fatima’s reputation for generosity. She is remembered for preparing and distributing meals to people in need from her home.
Fatima 1932 is leveraging this heritage and storytelling to differentiate itself within the growing niche fragrance segment, particularly among younger consumers seeking authenticity, individuality and deeper connections, the brand said. ✈
