Fraport to bid for Indian airports stake? – 02/02/05

GERMANY. Fraport board member Stefan Schulte has reported that the Frankfurt Airport operator is interested in taking a stake in India’s Delhi or Bombay airports.

Speaking during a conference in Delhi, Schulte said Fraport would like to invest €30-50 million for a 10% stake in one of the airports. Fraport is one of ten consortia bidding for a stake in the airports, he added.

India is looking for investors to help with the expansion of the two airports. It is expected to invite bids by the end of February, reports news agency AFX Asia, with a decision likely to be made by the summer.
