Italian accessories brand Furla generated revenue of €499 million in 2017, up +20% year-on-year at constant exchange rates. The brand’s travel retail sales grew by +14.5%.
Comparable store sales propelled the company’s success, with a high single-digit, like-for-like increase. All markets posted sales gains, with Asia Pacific achieving +50% growth. The region now accounts for 24% of total turnover.
Sales in Japan increased +15.4% and account for 23% of company turnover. EMEA sales rose by +12.9%, with the region representing 46% of turnover. US sales jumped +9.6%, with sales accounting for 7% of business. Retail generared 70% of all sales in 2017.

The company said its success is the result of major investments in marketing, which include 360° projects that encompass digital, social and e-commerce, plus enhanced store windows and media communications. Furla also attributed growth to the expansion of its distribution network.
Furla is present in approximately 100 countries and has a worldwide distribution network of 467 points-of-sale (compared to 444 in 2016). It directly owns 253, while 177 are franchises and 37 are travel retail operations.
