Germany’s Hochtief to develop Pulkovo Airport – 16/12/05

RUSSIA. German company Hochtief AirPort, a subsidiary of Germany’s largest construction firm, has won the contest to develop Pulkovo Airport in St Petersburg.

The company will be responsible for Pulkovo’s infrastructure and operation, as well as developing non-aviation activity. The redevelopment plan will take around eight to ten months to finalise, and the contract will run to 2025. Hochtief AirPort beat off US bidders Dornier Consulting and Leigh Fisher/Sabre for the Pulkovo contract.

The new contract strengthens Hochtief’s presence in Russia. The firm is currently building a new international terminal at Moscow Sheremetyevo-1.

Hochtief, which earlier this year announced its intention to speed up its airport activity, has redeveloped a number of international airports including Athens, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Sydney.

*The company is seeking a Retail Manager to run its retail operations. Please see The Moodie Report’s Classified advertising section for full information on the job description and contact details.
