NETHERLANDS. Gerzon Duty Free has secured the worldwide exclusive rights for a range of Miffy products and will introduce these at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore (Stand number: D18).
Created by artist and illustrator Dick Bruna, Miffy is a small female rabbit character from a picture book. Her original Dutch name is Nijntje, which stems from a toddler’s pronunciation of the word “˜konijntje’ meaning “˜little rabbit’, according to Gerzon.

Used as a teaching aid for children for more than 50 years, Miffy books have been translated into 40 languages with more than 85 million copies sold worldwide.
The Miffy assortment for travel retail ranges from notebooks and mugs to plush toys, travel bags, pencil cases and picture frames.

ABOUT DICK BRUNA
Dick Bruna has created, written and illustrated almost 100 books. His drawings are described as simple, showing only the major characteristics of a subject or animal – almost like pictograms. He only draws in full face, not in profile. Bruna always uses the same colours – red, blue, yellow, white and green – and he finds inspiration for his pictures in the work of Mondriaan and Matisse.
