Grey Goose adds fresh flavour to vodka family – 16/04/07

New Grey Goose La Poire is available now in selected travel retail markets

US. La Poire is the latest addition to the Grey Goose range of flavoured vodkas, launched at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in an exclusive European partnership with travel retailer Aelia, and rolling out through Nice, Bordeaux and across the US.

Grey Goose Vodka’s Maître de Chai (Cellar Master) François Thibault explained that he found his inspiration for La Poire, “when I tasted a delicious tarte poire from my local patisserie. The Anjou pears perfectly complemented the rounded, buttery flavours of the pastry, and I was convinced Grey Goose Vodka would also be an ideal base for the essence of ripe Anjou pears.”

Anjou pears are particularly prized for their delicate flavour, and aromas of honeysuckle and wildflower. Only 100% natural essences of the pear are used to create La Poire, to capture the taste of the fruit.

Of the launch, Bacardi Global Travel Retail Division Marketing Director Gary Chau commented: “France is the source of the world’s finest epicurean and luxury traditions – including Grey Goose – so we are celebrating this
debut close to home.

“As Grey Goose is known as “˜The World’s Best Tasting Vodka,’ we habitually partner with other “˜bests’ in their field. Combining these, production designer Michael Howells created three “˜couture’ Grey Goose La Poire windows for Aelia stores in terminals 2 F2, 2A Satellite 1, and LEM2. Each window epitomises French luxury, and brings our objective of using travel retail as a shop window for Bacardi’s super-premium brands to life in a spectacular way.”

Available in travel retail in a one-litre size, 80 proof Grey Goose La Poire comes in a frosted glass bottle with a clear window in the shape of a goose, through which an Impressionist-style image of pear blossoms and ripening pears can be seen. Each bottle is sealed with a cork stopper and foil closure.

About Grey Goose

All Grey Goose vodkas are created using a five-step distillation process using 100% fine French wheat from the La Beauce region (also used to make the finest French pastries) and spring water from Gensac that is naturally filtered through Champagne limestone. Each step of the distillation process is said to leave Grey Goose smoother, softer, and more refined, giving it a crisp flavour and long round aftertaste, with a slight taste of almond.
