FRANCE. Groupe ADP has awarded Carrefour an eight-year contract for nine convenience food stores at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Paris Orly airports, following a tender.
The retailer’s stores will operate under the Carrefour City brand, with six at CDG (two of them new in T2) and three at Orly, as its partnership with Groupe ADP is extended.

A Groupe ADP statement said, “This partnership strengthens the position of Carrefour Proximité France as a major player in travel retail and marks a new milestone in the development of a local food offering tailored to the needs of the millions of travellers who pass through Parisian airports each year and the many employees at both Parisian airports.
“It also enables Groupe ADP to broaden its retail offerings and, thanks to the installation of a fully-equipped kitchen at the airport, to provide freshly made products everyday (including salads and cut fruit).”
‘Get a taste of Parisian life’
The new Carrefour City Renew concept, tailored for the airport environment under the slogan ‘Get a taste of Parisian life’, will be rolled out across all stores, beginning at Paris CDG’s train station at Roissypôle.

Designed for “convenience, quality and quick service”, said ADP, the stores will offer an expanded food & beverage selection, well-developed snack areas and a distinctive product lineup. The stores will also extend their current opening hours and trade from 6am to 11pm daily.
New partner brands at the stores include Nespresso, Joli Coq, Bagelstein, Vertu Food, Sushiman, Krispy Kreme and Picadeli.
Groupe ADP Chairman and CEO Philippe Pascal said, “The arrival of the Carrefour brand in the heart of one of the terminals at Paris-Charles de Gaulle illustrates Groupe ADP’s commitment to offering both to the 90,000 employees who work there every day and to travellers, a comprehensive, expanded, high-quality selection at city-centre prices.”
Carrefour Group Chairman and CEO Alexandre Bompard said, “The travel retail market is at the heart of our expansion strategy: our ambition is to be present wherever our customers work and travel. With these nine Carrefour City stores at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly, we are offering both travellers and airport employees a high-quality selection at very affordable prices.
“I would like to thank Groupe ADP for their trust and for this partnership, which allows us to work together to create a new generation of convenience stores in French airports.” ✈
