GVK appoints Zaha Hadid Architects to design Navi Mumbai Airport

INDIA. GVK-led consortium Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited has appointed Zaha Hadid Architects to design the new airport’s Terminal 1.

London-based Zaha Hadid also designed the 700,000sq m terminal at the upcoming Beijing Daxing International Airport.

The firm’s other projects have included the Olympic Aquatics Centre in London; the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan; the MAXXI Contemporary Arts Centre in Rome; the Guangzhou Opera House in China; and the Al Wakrah Stadium for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. It has a portfolio of over 950 projects across 44 nations.

Zaha Hadid will also design the ATC Tower at Navi Mumbai International Airport as part of its first major project in the Indian sub-continent.
