HONG KONG. HDS Retail Asia Pacific has unveiled the new brand identity for its recently acquired WH Smith stores at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Eight stores were re-branded Relay and two were re-branded NewsLink.
The re-branding was launched with a book-signing session, with former Hong Kong Governor Chris Patten signing copies of his latest book “Not Quite the Diplomat: Home Truths About World Affairs” at a Newslink outlet in the Passenger Terminal Building (Landside 7 Departures Hall) of the airport.
HDS Retail Asia Pacific completed the acquisition of the A&R Whitcoulls Group travel retail businesses in Hong Kong and Australia from A&R Whitcoulls Group Holdings on 18 October 2005. The acquisition included ten WH Smith stores at HKIA and five stores in Australia. This will increase the number of stores operated by HDS Retail Asia Pacific to 75 in the Asia Pacific region.
