Heathrow’s DAPs network has been extended to include 42 new locations |
UK. Heathrow Airport’s broadcast digital network has been completely upgraded by JCDecaux Airport. 181 screens with dynamic digital capabilities have been installed across Terminals 3, 4 and 5, bringing them in line with the technology used in Terminal 2.
The upgraded digital airport panels (DAPs) have increased in size to 70 inches, while screens have been added in 42 locations in Terminals 3 and 4. The screens can utilise live data streams, enabling advertisers to tailor content to specific audiences, events or environments.
JCDecaux Airport noted that 19 “˜iVision’ units had been installed in the baggage reclaim hall at T5, with the 80 inch screens said to offer “fantastic sight lines” and an “immersive opportunity”.
Heathrow hosted what JCDecaux Airport said was a world-first dynamic digital campaign in April 2015, in which Heathrow Express and Dooh.com combined five live data streams to create a real-time journey comparison generator.
“Utilising real time data is becoming easier and increasingly popular with advertisers, and something we hope to see more of at the airport going forward,” stated JCDecaux Airport.
