Ian Macleod Distillers refreshes Edinburgh Gin flavoured range with Avolta-exclusive release

A vibrant blend of fresh grapefruit and mandarin peels brings a burst of summer flavour to Edinburgh Gin’s travel retail-exclusive (TREX) collection

UK. Ian Macleod Distillers has expanded its Edinburgh Gin range with the launch of Grapefruit & Mandarin. The latest offer debuts exclusively at Avolta’s World Duty Free UK stores.

The new 1L expression (40% ABV) is distilled with fresh grapefruit and mandarin peels, delivering bright citrus notes balanced by the sweet, fruity character of mandarin. Inspired by long summer days, it is positioned as a vibrant, refreshing addition to the range.

Grapefruit & Mandarin joins Key Lime & Ginger, Strawberry & Pink Pepper, and Watermelon & Lime as the fourth full-strength flavoured Edinburgh Gin created exclusively for Avolta. Recommended serves include a classic gin and tonic garnished with grapefruit peel or mixed with grapefruit soda for a refreshing summer-style cocktail.

Edinburgh Gin Head Distiller David Wilkinson said: “The combination of fresh grapefruit and tangy mandarin makes this a vibrant and zesty gin. The addition of Timur pepper enhances the grapefruit aromas, as well as adding a spicy tingle to the aftertaste.”

The latest expression is produced in the brand’s distillery and visitor centre at The Arches, just off the Royal Mile, which was named Gin Distillery Experience of the Year at the Scottish Gin Awards 2025.

Grapefruit & Mandarin adds to World Duty Free’s collection of full-strength flavoured gins: The Classic, Seaside, Cannonball and Rhubarb & Ginger, alongside the Elevated Editions gin liqueur range, launched in UK World Duty Free stores last October: Rhubarb & Ginger, Raspberry and Blood Orange & Ginger.
