Image of the Day: The whole world in our hands

Our regular feature celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

“Imagine if we held the world in our own hands again and regained control of our fortunes.

“This piece of original art shows the natural beauty of our planet and at the same time demonstrates the burden that we must all bear to hold it together.”

Not our words but those of Israel-based entrepreneur Ian Kay, founder of Wand Technology and AirTraffix, businesses which help to grow ancillary revenues for airlines, airport and travel retail operators. [Click here for a recent interview by Mark Lane with Ian].

Besides being drawn to the work’s alluring charm, Ian has another interest in it. It is by his daughter Sophie, a professional artist.

Sophie works primarily in ink but often incorporates vivid acrylics in an emotive manner; highlighting the use of negative space and expressionism.

Her work was acknowledged by the Israel Arts Council in 2018 when she received the award of Distinguished Artist for a body of work that includes the representation of the Wild Flowers of Israel

Sophie is available for private commissions; including art origination, tattoo design, paintings, logos, graphic design, prints gifts and much more. In fact all creative service needs.

Based not only on today’s chosen image, but on the body of work that we discovered on Sophie’s LinkedIn page, she should have no shortage of clients in the future.

Sophie created this work to celebrate International Women’s Day. “I hope I have captured the essence of power and freedom that all women should be able to express in their lives every day,” she says.
