SWITZERLAND. Our latest choice of images comes courtesy of Zurich Airport, which is running its annual ‘Best of Switzerland’ showcase from 10 October to 2 November.
We paid a visit last week, and saw first-hand how the airport’s Airside Centre is playing host to a series of pop-ups from seven Swiss brands that highlight the craft and expertise of some of the country’s great producers.

The brands include:
*Alpessence, which takes Swiss Alpine inspiration for its cosmetics line, with natural ingredients such as nourishing goat’s milk and protective apple stem cells (pictured below).

*AYMA Clothing presents its fine tights, with a focus on innovation and sustainability (below).

*Mammut (below) tells the latest chapter in its story as a mountain sports brand, having grown from a rope-making business 160 years ago into an outdoor adventure label.

*Switzerland Tourism takes guests on a virtual journey through Switzerland’s most beautiful regions, using VR to showcase the Grand Train Tour and the Grand Tour of Switzerland.

*Tissot takes its story in Swiss precision timekeeping to new audiences through its airport pop-up (below).

*Trauffer Switzerland has been handcrafting wooden toys in the Bernese Oberland since 1938, and demonstrates its craft in making wooden cows to a traveller audience here.

*Victorinox, maker of the Original Swiss Army Knife, takes part with a striking pop-up that shows off its latest ranges.

Level 2 airside also offers musical entertainment with traditional alphorn and yodelling during the period.
Zurich Airport Head of Marketing Judith Krepper said: “With Best of Switzerland, we are presenting a carefully curated selection of Swiss brands that combine tradition and modernity. We want to take passengers on an inspiring journey of discovery – and show them how diverse and innovative Swissness can be.”
