ITALY. Gebr Heinemann subsidiary Travel Retail Italiana has opened the first walk-through duty free store at Turin Airport.
The company took control of the retail space in the Schengen zone of the airport serving the northern Italian city in November 2014. Since then it has invested in an overhaul of the shop as part of a terminal renovation.
Spanning 900sq m, the new Heinemann Duty Free shop introduces “an imaginative passenger flow” and offers an “appealing shopping experience” according to the retailer.

Specialities from the Piedmont region are strongly represented, with wines from Prunotto and Gianni Gagliardo and fine chocolate by Baratti & Milano alongside the well-known Caffarel nougat.
The 25-strong Heinemann Duty Free team provides “expert, customer-focused assistance”, noted the retailer.
